Shore Batteries or CV defense?
« on: September 24, 2005, 12:22:40 AM »
This map that is in rotation tonight (Sat 12:18a.m. CST) seems to be lacking shore batteries or any real cv defense.  170 had an enemy cv parked about 25 miles off shore.  The CV ack could reach all the way to our field.  I finally got tired of the ack runners and decided to sink it, only to find out that this base which is sitting on the coast has no shore batteries.  So I thought I would up a PT boat and mess around a bit except you can't spawn a PT boat either?

How are these coastal bases expected to defend from CV attack when they can anchor their boats on our shore, catch our fish, steal our women and spread their cabbage smell for miles without any worry about harm that could come to them??

:furious

Shore battery? Up some heavy bombers and dive on that sucker. That's why they're in the game.

Map maker probably just didn't catch it, it is easy to lose track of things after you place 100+ fields, towns, strat targets, etc.

This map was intended to be a CV proactive map, thus defenses against CV's from the shore, or PTs, will be light.

Well ... that makes alot of sense.  I would say that trinity is supposed to be a conventional land base to land base attack map, yet I still see gobs of puffy ack and a plethora of AI ack guns.  Not saying its your fault, just seems like an unfair advantage.  Bah... oh well, I'll just up the NOE bombers next time =P
