I know I read it somewhere..  I think it was the photographer himself saying so.

The only thing that bothers me about this series of photos is, who was that close to the guy, taking pictures, going around the same curve (and obviously in the wrong lane), with the object of the photos sometimes behind and other times beside the picture taker??  Also, the pics seem VERY smooth and well centered on the subject for what would have been an adrenaline filled few moments.  Only 2 answers come to mind.

1)  The one with the camera was an absolute IDIOT and deserved to crash and burn (and hopefully never reproduce), but instead caught this other fellow crashing, and got lucky with his camera handling.

2)  The entire scenario was setup from the beginning to film a crash, with either a second person on a bike doing the picture taking or taking pics from a more stable platform (i.e. a car or the back of a truck).

Its at a meet, on a defined course, the camera is stationary and set up at a corner where everyone will ride by.
Look at the bottom picture, the camera isnt even close to on the road.

It's set up in that they fully intended to photograph bikes going around that corner, the chromework redesign in action was just a bonus.

3). It's a popular road and this is an excellent place to take pictures of people enjoying it. There are plenty more here.

Tires look too new, should not play around on tires with less then 150 miles on them.  Besides I think the BMW R100RS is the best bike ever made, anything else is just junk.

Yeah, SoA, he's got a lot of photos there, including some of couples on bikes that cannot be posted here.

A lot of folks are passionate about taking pictures of machines, and getting the "good" shot. That spot ("hillside chicane") reminds me a lot of the ones that the photogs (professional and freelance) favored when I was up at the Cyprus rally: outside of turns with a good telephoto shot of a short straight with lots of weight shifting going around. That's where you catch the guys drifting, pulling tires up, and all the cool stuff.
Of course, my reaction was "these guys have got to be insane", followed by "okay, now I'm down here, which way do I run?"
But hey, tiny little bikes on asphalt, no big deal.
