log on as a knight, and tune your radio to 171, its our squad channel and we are a RAF squadron.

failing that im going to the MA now, ill be there for a few hours.

failing that the ultimate best people i can think of in spits are Sniper, Lazzydud(phish), Leviathn and wildthng. these guys have always been a cut above the rest imo along with a few other select ninja assasins. All four of them have been helpfull to me in the past when i have asked.

Even if 'helping' you means whooping your buttt 20 times in a row, then you will learn, i assure you.

Also try heading to te Training Arena and call for REN (eeurgh), Fuze, Nomak or any of the other dedicated trainers.

ask around when you're in the game, someone will stop and help you out im sure.
:aok
And I don't know much, but I do know this. With a golden heart comes a rebel fist.

Nope, this is the right forum.

Which spit do you prefer?

Spitfire mk I
Seafire mk IIc
Spitfire mk Vb
Spitfire mk IX
Spitfire mk XIV

They are all different and require a different strategy.

As said above.

You can also try to get a hold of Superdud. Hes pretty nasty in Spit as well and always willing to help.

Not sure which spit to fly lol!

I like the spit v, but also the ix as it can do the bombs and drop tanks, etc!

Never flown the spit i, heard it cuts out?

As far as the spit xiv, well wish i could afford the points lol!

Thanks

Fly spit 1 for a month and youll be able to afford the 14 no prob. ;)

If youve never flown Spitties, then id go for the Spit9 or Spit5/2c (they are basically the same) for starters.

All Spits are fairly good turners at low speed, but can also be flown BnZ-style, since they retain E very good.

Spit 5/2c: Very nimble turner, good handling at very low speeds (flaps!). Short fuel range, not much canon ammo (240 rounds) .the 303s are mainly for spooking, as they dont do much damage and have serious convergence issues (far out on wings)

Spit9: Better engine performance, less nimble, drop tank available -> better range. Same ammo load as Spit5, but cal 50 insted of 303s.

Spit1: Even more nimble than the 5, weak engine which cuts out when pulling negative G-forces (gravity carburetor). Ammo loadout is 8 303s with 300 rpg.

Spit14: PERKED! Very strong engine, less nimble than the 9. Even though its not exactly a bad turner, turnfighting it wouldnt do it justice. The Spit14 is a high alt performer.

More to read on Soda's Aircraft page.

If youre more of a turnfighter, id recommend the Spit5. Set the convergence close (200-225) and get up close and personal for killing.

As Batfink already said: Youre welcome to fly with us (71 Sqn) on knight chan 171.

Hi Bat,

Thanks for the message - will try and fly with you but I'm a rook - no one will ever talk to me again!

But hey, never had any friends anyway!

Yup, great advice written above. The trainers along with the guys mentioned above helped me a lot and are all very friendly and helpful. You will probably die... A LOT, but everyone goes through it (I know I did). Key is to stick with it and push yourself. If you screw up and die, grab a new plane and try again.

BTW, thanks for the kind words Schatzi, I try:D

Also, what time do you fly tally? Maybe I can meet up with ya?

Was thinking more in terms of meeting you in TA/DA. Those are the best places to practice. I actually still spend a lot of my time in those 2 arenas. I'll keep an eye out for ya in MA though and see if ya wanna go a few rounds. I haven't really played long myself, but I was lucky to find some great teachers(many listed by Mechanic) and like to help out others like I was. So if you see me lurking in any of the arenas don't hesitate to give me a holler:aok

BTW, I'm currently a rook but jump to other countries as I like so that's no problem.
