I recently designed a gunsight  for the game ,but I cant seem to figure out  how to get it to the sights folder for use.Has anyone else ever had any trouble doing this ,any help would be appreciated.This sight is specifically designed to assist with HO shots and does increase the survival rate if used during HO's on merge,order 1 today and get a complementary flak jacket to prevent injury to self from the verbal abuse that comes shortly after you survive your first HO/Joust,and the poor sap in the flamming wingless coffin goes spiraling to his vertual death.Also included at no cost is your very own  decoder ring.

The sight must be saved as a 256-color BMP file with i think maximum 128 x 128 pixels measuring.

To get the transparency work, you have to set the RGB-color 255,0,255 as the background of the image. Or - if you want to get a "glowing" sight - you have to make two: 1 sight and 1 in grey as alpha.

Feel free to mail me the file if it makes problems, i'll check it and tell you the result: michnix AT black-knights.de.

Ty Michnix,I'll try that .
It's a pretty simple sight.
By glowing ,do you mean illuminated?

Yes - illuminated would be the better word. See those files as an example:

Then you just lay the gunsight over the alpha sight?

michnix ... the "old" alpha sight notion is for all intents and purposes dead.

In your example above, all you need is the "black" sight ... the illumination will happen automatically with that sight.

The new method is called "additive mixing" ... see this post for more info ... http://www.hitechcreations.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=136621&highlight=gunsight

What I did was get someone elses gunsight and worked from that.

Go to Waffles site ... http://www.dangreve.com/ ... get what he did and see if you can work with those as a template.

I use PhotoShop(not-free) or GIMP (freeware)

@Slapshot
Thanks for the info, slapshot. This makes it way less time intensive to make new sights. I'll try it out. Can you post a file with some of your sights in it?

@JB12
Can you mail the ho-sight to me please? I would like to test it.
