FM is way over modeled, airfoils cannot fly at a 90 degree angle threw the air

Not to get to aeronautical but...as long as there is air moving across the airfoil, there is some component of lift.  Granted it is small and most likely oriented horizontaly and not vertically but the component is still there.  Also the rudder (when plane is 90 degrees to ground) actually adds a small portion of vertical lift.

Is it me or did that sound WAY to geekish.....

Sean Tucker is by far the best on the circuit.  Just watching him makes me ill.

Sean Tucker flies a really good technical show, but if you want to see crazy go watch Jim Leroy sometime. He flies the Bulldog Pitts Special. Yellow plane with black trim. This guy is insane, and he makes Tucker look like he is just tooling around the sky. They were both at the NAS Oceana air show a few years ago and Jim Leory stole the show.

Just watched it. Thought it was another clip I had seen a while ago.
No biggie. I've seen all that stuff  and even more hairy things many times before at the Sussex airshow her in NJ Even saw 3-4 doing it at the same time that looked remarkably similar to or own furballs.

Didnt see but one or two things in that clip that cant be done in the MA.

Anybody ever watched these Pitts Specials at airshows and wondered what it woulda been like to mount a couple of machine guns on them and time warp back to WWI - with the Sopwiths and Fokkers?

you can go back in time this weekend with those planes
at the Wright Patterson airforce museum.
