As the temperature has been getting into the high 70's at night here in Phoenix, I have taken to opening my bedroom window for the evenings.
This morning, around 6.30 am, I was awakened by the city of Phoenix truck that comes by every Thursday to pick up the recycle trash. As the truck moved down the street, a car alarm was set off in the distance. I listened to the sounds, reverberating in the distance and smiled. Life is a gift, I thought. Sounds dumb I know, but that's just me.
Then I listened to the birds chirping in the trees just outside my window, and others from further away. The reverberation of the soundscape amazed me. I smiled.
A little while later, around 8 am, I heard the kids as they and thier moms made their way to the corner bus stop. I thought, life is such a gift.
