whats the posibility of releasing the 109s

And now they are not. You have noted the change. It was a drastic change, as well.

I think, however, that in the change from AH1 to AH2 a lot of planes got changed in unrealistic ways. Somebody else suggested it had to do with not modeling the drag properly. I can see why they'd think so. Planes don't decelerate like they should. Nor do they rip wings off at 500+ anymore. Nor should a6m2's be able to do some things I've seen them do (and done in them myself)

Kev, might i ask if you will do another 31st FG paint job for one of the spits?  Bomber Barons always use the one u did for the Spit IX.

If you can find me a picture or profile of a 308th Mk VIII I will do that one as my second Mk VIII.
Apparently the 31st recieved a mix of Mk IX and Mk VIII to replace their Mk V's in May 1943.
The VIII's all went to the 308 FS.

OK I found one -
1943 Mk VIII - 31FG/308FS HL*K "Fargo Express", in desert (mid stone/ dark earth over azure blue) colours.

Are we actually getting the Mk VIII?  I thought Pyro said that one was unlikely?

I really hope we get the Mk VIII.  I'd use it over the Mk XVI for sure.

Not unlikely, he was thinking about it.
I think I mentioned that if the XVI is at 18lbs I could see little point of doing the Mk VIII. As apart from clipped wings on the XVI and extra tanks/retractible tailwheel on the VIII theres maybe not enough difference.
Hope I'm wrong though, to give up a great Spit V we have now for a Mk XVI at only 18lbs would feel like a rip off.

Looking at free Spits
Mk I - gain 12lbs boost (only used in BoB scenarios anyway)
Mk V - lose 16 lbs boost
Mk IX - lose 50 cal options (werent accurate anyway)
Mk XVI - at 18lbs

Somehow doesnt look like a 'fair' trade.
Add the VIII at 18lbs (can double for 1943/44 LF IX) and the XVI at 25lbs (late 44/early 45) it looks better.
Think we already had the discussion that a XVI at 18lbs is no better than a 1943 LF IX.

Alreadt sent Pyro some stuff from Rolls Royce and the National Archive that show although 5700fpm was possible for test purposes, it was more likely closer to 4700fpm. Plus the clipped wings decrease climb rate by approx 200fpm per 5000ft.

So, back to 109s...guess there's little to no chance of having functional combat flaps with the makeover huh?

There weren't any FM changes made to any planes with the release of AH2 as far as HTC has stated.

There was an overall change to FM where HTC modelled a far greater number of points on the wings (if I understood it right) which affects all planes, specially near stall speed and high angles of attack.

No changes were made to the 190's. No changes were made to the 109's. The 109's just gained alot from the new FM redo. (possibly partly to the fact that they have leading edge slats that, before the FM change, didn't work quite as well as they should).

No FM changes are being made to any of the new modells released if I have understood HTC right. These updates are purly "eye candy" with improved 3D modells and skins.
The only FM difference is on the new planes that are added (P47N, 109 G14, Spit XVI etc).

As for the possibility of releasing the 109's prior to the spits, looking at history this won't happen unless something drastic happens to the spitfire remodelling which halts the progress.
And as have been stated before, the spits are more then likely being remade at the same time as the 109's, Superfly is working on them more then likely. Question is who is making the skins?
