HTC guys,
I already mentioned this in a previous post, but since it was a secondary issue in that post, it may have been missed. It wasn't fixed in the last patch, at any rate. It would be helpful if you guys could post a comment the the effect that this was on the list of things to be fixed. :-)
Basically, there are a number of areas on the P-51 models where light seems to not be reflected properly when the surface is normal to (perpendicular to) the line of sight. This is VERY noticable if the skin has a uniform color on the underside of the plane.
The 3 main areas are the whole underside of the nose, the middle portion of the radiator air scoop (both on the underside of the plane), and the top of the fuselage spine behind the cockpit. The starboard rudder hinge (?) is also affected, but this is less noticeable.
This can easily be seen with the new skin viewer, if you use a skin with a relative uniform color on the belly of the plane. The only image I have which shows this is below, but it doesn't show it very well. Suggest you use the skin viewer, and roll the plane around the longitudinal axis while viewing the underside.
BTW, the new P-51s are very nice, and would be practically perfect if this issue could be fixed.
