327th frame-1 AAR
« on: October 01, 2005, 04:31:16 PM »
The 327th Steel Talons launched 14 A6M2's from C16.
Tasked to protect Rabaul & P8 patrolled NE then E then S to C16 where we engaged attacking bandits, along with our fellow USMC boys, and dispatched them smartly, allowing one hit on C16's radar.

Returning to  the 9-14 intersection, noted our facilities west of P8 were flashing, investigation revealed an empty sky.

A13 began flashing so we aborted our patrol and flew nose-on to A13 where we encountered A20 Bombers (???) eastbound and dispatched them with the exception of a few we could not catch with our A6M2's.  We re-armed at A13.

We then returned to C16 and engaged a few SBD's attacking C16.  We then re-armed there and continued our patrol south of Rabaul.

Results:
23 Kills
14 Assists
5 Deaths
1 Disco by Zulu.

We have 2 new Aces:

KOOL 9 Kills, 1 Assist.  Lived.
VimyIV 5 Kills, 1 Assist  Lived.

I and our XO, SteelFS are extremely proud of our pilots discipline, skills and SA.   Well done gentlemen.

I was going to ask about an AAR, but I see you started one. :)

Congrats guys. I really mean that. Just make sure you enjoy it now, those kind of frames are rare.  We would have to kick you out if you were that good ALL the time. :)

The 332nd Flying Mongrels were tasked with launching Bostons out of Port Mresby (A10). About 30 Bostons dropped on A13 and did minor damage. Good news is we lost very few due to speed of the Boston.  Ghosth my X.O. lead the attack as I was unable to attend Friday night. I came in late just in time to watch my son "sondog" run from a three fighters.  Phew! :)

Also want to thank the 65th Fighting ***** for the escort of my squad. :)
