So long as we have an unemployment problem in any field why should we allow immigrant workers in that field? Is there any other country in the world that does not look after it's own citizens first?

LOL thanks Toad.  I can see it now - the clatter of toolbox and wrenches hitting the ground the other side of the fence.  Several days later standing next to a cardboard sign next to the runway hold at some airport, sponge and bucket in hand "Windsheilds cleaned $5".  This might work ......

Continuing to allow Mexicans to come and work here illegally by the millions  artificially sustains the corrupt Mexican government with the billions these workers send home. What will happen in Mexico when that money dries up? Maybe a change for the better but a change for certain.

Well actually the Poles are, since a month ago a new European law went into effect that allowed virtually unlimited foreign employment. In that sense we face (a portion of) the same issue. In essence those who were illegal immigrant workers are now legal employees who may come and go here at their own discretion.

My point is that only low-skilled work in construction and agriculture are taken by them, with the obvious exceptions that confirm the rule of course.

For more skilled work companies resort to outsourcing.
