Losing sound today; never happened before
« on: October 01, 2005, 06:26:27 PM »
Pretty much says it all; never happened before, or even since my computer rebuild 2 months ago.

realtek ac97 on board sound chip(s). been working fine.

come out of ah and sound works fine. reboot, go ah, lose sound after 5 min or so.

went control panel, turned down acceleration one notch from full, play ah, lose sound, look in control panel, acceleration somehow reset to full acceleration, push it down a notch, play ah, lose sound, check acceleration...who set it back to full?

several reboots and shut downs, still same? what gives?

I think the acceleration issue is due to the onboard sound. Seems like there isn't any adjustment for them.
Far too many, if not most, people on this Board post just to say something opposed to posting when they have something to say.

my ac97 on my old gamer needed updated  drivers to run ah2

along with the sound exceleration turned down 1 notch .. try turning it down in bolth windows and in the dxdiag sound part.
