Stupid question
« Reply #15 on: October 13, 2005, 05:48:11 PM »
I tried an external monitor.  No go.  So far as I can see there is no reset jumper.  I was hoping for one.  CMOS reset is my friend.  ::sigh::

Gateway's repair people refuse to give me any info on the computer, they want me to send it in for diagnosis @ $50 charge and $75 per hour labor to fix it.  Yeah right.  I told them no thanks.

The new motherboard is only $59, I can replace the internals for almost what they would charge me to tell me whats wrong with it.

To reset the cmos if you have no jumpers you will have to take the battery out and leave it out for a bit. I have an ECS mobo and I have to leave it out for a few minutes and it resets. But to be on the safe side leave it out for 2 hours.  :aok
