Why would this BBS be any different from the rest of the world?
yup, that's a fact it is now faux pas to call anything or anyone to accountability let alone the pedestal placed black American. here's an anecdote for you. I was in the Pembroke Pines building department discussing the pros and cons of living in a deed restricted community with another contractor who is white as white can be. I made the comment that at least in a deed restricted community you wouldn't come home to find a neighbor had painted their home hot pink and purple. The comment drew laughter and approval from many including the other contractor. A black permit clerk took immediate offense at my comment. Looking at me sternly she said "what be wrong wif a pink and pupple house?" returning her stare I replied, "I find those colors offensive, they offend my eyes." She didn't respond to me, and looked surprised that I didn't attempt an apology. No one else looked at her or said a word. Giving ground to any minority really just hurts us collectively. This country's success has been our societies willingness to accept all who come but also to acclimate them to the culture. That culture is northern european and based on the Judeo/Christian ethic. It's worked wonderfully and we all have the obligation to step up to the plate and insist on a national language as English, refute revisionist historians and smack down anyone who would dismantle the republic from within with all these BS hyphenated American crap. I came here from Cuba as a boy of three years old and I'm thankful that my mom and dad insisted on immediate Americanization, English is and was spoken at home. while I remain proud of my heritage I'm prouder still of my generous adoptive home and it's kind and freedom loving people.
