How to look at and edit ss's?
« on: October 08, 2005, 02:59:17 PM »
How do I look at screen shots I've taken and edit them?

Also, how do I edit my films to make them more realistic and stuff.

What utter and compete BS, quite frankly I should kick you off this bbs for this post.

The real truth is you do not like the answer.

You can find your screenshots from your AHII-folder (default: "C:\Program Files\Hitech Creations\Aces High II" or something - sorry, I've never had it in the default location), you've got to edit (resize, convert to jpeg, et all) them in a suitable program (MS Pain or something more adept - GIMP, Paint Shop Pro, Photoshop or such).

I haven't edited any films, but Windows Movie Maker (comes with winXP) should be enough.. Do a search here in the f&s forums for more detailed guides,

Open the SS with Paint, then save as another filetype (Photoshop cant read the bmps). Edit them from there.

For film making: I used the free fraps version (gives you 30 secs of record time). Watch the film in Viewer (views set as you like) and record it as an avi (via fraps) from there. Youll need to play around on the shots a lot, and have a high frustration tolerance with the film viewer.

Then edit the avis with WMM or SonyVegas.

Dont know. Maybe its my amazing ability with computers, but my Photoshop cant open the bmps created by AH (ie screenies).

It says something about a file format module not being able to interpret the file.

Other bmps are ok.

I find the angles I want in the film maker - max the screen size out, and then hit Print Screen - alt tab out, and paste the capture into whatever program i'm using, Paint, Photoshop, etc.

Most paintless way to do it.

Got PS 6. Cant open any of the AH-created bmps (other bmps are ok). "Open as" doesnt work either. When i convert them to tif/gif/jpg, i can open them allright.

Stranger things have happened when it was *me* sitting in front of the keyboard...:)

But thx for offering.
