Bomber Calibration Problem
« on: October 08, 2005, 02:11:42 AM »
I have been experiencing a problem for many weeks where I cannot get a calibration for bombing, usually occuring on my second bomb run of a sortie.  This has happened numerous times, but not every time I take up a bomber.
What happens is, after calibration, I notice I cannot adjust heading with the [J ] and [L] keys, the calibrated speed has not changed from the last run, and additionally, the Map in the Clipboard is locked up and cannot be moved with the cursor.  This is my indication that calibration has failed, and there is no point in continuing.  I have never found a way to correct the problem on that sortie.  A second or third, very careful calibration attempt does not fix it.  I am left to auger and re-up new bombers.
I am otherwise fairly accurate in my bombing so I know how to calibrate, but cannot figure what is causing this problem.
Is anyone else having the same problem and can it be fixed?
Thnx

If you can't move the map on the clipboard, that is usually an indication that you failed to press (or pressed twice) the "U" button at the end of calibration.

Oddly, I've found that even in non-bombers, pressing the "U" button will "Lock UP" the clipboard map..

This last few days I've been doing a lot of bomber runs, each with several re-calibrations per sortie, with no issues yet.

JCLerch, that would explain my random map freezes. I often use auto angle, trim with I and K and have clumsy fingers.
