FSO: Pacific Pinsalamanders - Score Frame 1
« on: October 03, 2005, 10:12:47 PM »
Okay guys,

The parser logs over at Webtreatz are down. After going back through the raw logs it looks like the allies did not actually sink 4 DDs like I originally though .. just shows always check the logs over verbal repots.

The allies did severely damaged 1 CV, 1 DD, and lightly damaged another DD.

1833 = Axis
1736 = Allies

Here are the specifis:

AXIS

    AIR KILLS
    080 pts = 16 : F4F-4

    420 pts = 28 : Boston IIIs
    -05 pts = 01: A6M2
    -45 pts = 03: JU88s

    TOTAL = 710

    Ground Targets
    192 pts - A12 (LAE)
    400 pts - 2 x CVs
    050 pts - 1 CA

    Total = 642

    Defense of bases
    024 pts - C13 (Gatsumo) : 88% destroyed
    050 pts - 1 CV 75% damaged
    025 pts - 1 DD 50% damaged

      Also right now it looks like the Japanese fielded 112 pilots to the American/Australian 88. That is a 24 pilot advantage to the Japanese.

      Not sure what happened with the American numbers, usually it is the Japanese who have low turnout.

      I have activated the Silent Executioners squad and they will be flying Allied. Hopefully this will help numbers on the allied side.

      Over all the air to air war was real close .. 695 Axis to 690 Allies. The Japanese lost a lot of fighters compares to the Allies .. 42 A6M2s losted to 29 Allied fighters. Heavy bomber losses were exactly equal at 28 Bostons to 28 JU88s. SBD losses are what even out the numbers in the air war.

      The shipping war was also close .. another 2000 lbs and the 2nd IJN CV would have gone down. Another 1000 lbs and a DD would have gone down. The IJN did not damage any ships they did not sink.

      So it came down to the Axis killing a little bit more in the air, doing a little bit better versus ships, and then completely destroying A12 while the Allies only destroyed 88% of A13.

      A very, very close match.

      The Sick Puppies did what we could to defend A12.  There were only five of us present.  We encountered 15 (maybe more) A6ms escorting 15 (give or take a few) flights of bombers.  Blew past fighter cover and engaged bombers but not enough bullets to to be effective.  It was fun though.

      elc7367b -

      Sounds like you found the JG44 on Friday :).  Be glad we were in such a cruddy plane and couldnt keep up with the P40 :).

      ghostdancer - did you hear any reports of respawning hangars?  were you able to isolate or see this in the logs and account appropriately?  A12 supposedly had some respawning of hangars going on.

      Also - something to look out for if you didnt already was this:

      A few JG44 Ju88's re-armed with about 30 minutes remaining in the Ops at the northern field (i forget the number).  They lost all their drones (normal in AH when you re-arm buffs) and the drones were left on the field.

      The Ju88s then left for A12 to finish it off with some Zeke escorts.  About 10-15 minutes left, reports of SBDs and F4s hitting the re-arm field we used came...we wondered if our drones that were left behidn were killed.  Can you check on this and make sure those kills don't count if in fact this did happen?

      Thanks!

      That was an awesome sight there north of A12.  Five of us against all those numbers.  All we could do was make slashing attacks.  A couple of us went down in that engagement.  The other three returned to rearm and headed to your most likely base of return and encountered several planes attempting to land.  Got a few of them and some vulches:D .  In doing so we became low and slow and were pounced on.  All died.  It was a fun night for us......AND THATS WHAT ITS ALL ABOUT!

      Maybe i didnt read the score right...at second glance looks like axis sunk 2 cvs.

      The Japanese sunk 2 CVs and a CA.

      The Allies sunk 1 CV, and 1 CA. They severely damaged the second CV (75%), a destroyer (50%), and lightly damaged a second destroyer (5%).

      Earlier in the frame I got reports of 4 allied destroyers down. That turned out to be false.

      As for hangars respawning .. if they did they were not destroyed again. Each hangar in the logs has a number associated with it and none were duped in the object destroyed log.

      Checking into the drones sitting on A12 issue.

      I have gone through the logs and no drones seemed to have been killed on the ground at A13 in frame 2. Last set of JU88s that died were from Filth and DmdGordo.

      I know the SBDs that were scrafing A13 and none were credited with kills.
