Who are your heroes?

Can't really think of anyone I'd put that label on, except maybe the woman I married. She took in a guy who was pretty screwed up back then and really helped me straighten my life out. It wasn't an easy trip, especially for her.

to Saburo and Dred's moms. They both sound like great ladies.

I can see it's tough to only have one parent. At least they were there for you. Mine were there physically but they were not there were it counted. They were far to wrapped up in their own petty little problems and ignored what was happening in their kids lives. My moms solution to every problem was to ignore it and hope it goes away. If that did not work it was off to the doctor for a pill. Dad never had the guts to stand up to her even when it was the right thing to do for his kids. After a while he just gave up. You could see it in his eyes.

When I married my wife her daughter was 9. I've really been the only father she's ever known. It's helped me because I've been able to do for her what my parents never did for me.
