cant enter main arena - drops to login screen
« on: October 17, 2005, 02:49:44 PM »
Is this the ISP problem Skuzzy mentions?

I can run Aces High and login so that I see the list of arenas. MA has a ping of about 240 (Im in New zealand!) which has always been OK in the past.

So I click on that arena and go OK to enter it. It then seems to hang for quite a while and eventually boompfa! Im back at the login screen again.

I have had a problem with connecting to a local game server for some online GTR racing which has been resolved but otherwise I can connect to anything else on the web.

Im just wondering if its the known ISP problem or my connection?

It's probably related to the savvis problem and the server migration underway this week.
It's best to check your routes to places with pingplotter [ http://www.pingplotter.com ] or another tracing utility  to see whats coming and going.
Until the server migration is complete I'd expect some erratic logins to Aces High.
Far too many, if not most, people on this Board post just to say something opposed to posting when they have something to say.

Unfortunately, it is probably due to the continuing routing problems in Savvis's network.  We are in the process of moving the servers from Savvis to another ISP this week.

thanks guys, at least I now know its not some filtering of users with 'high' pings.

There's plenty of us here in NZ and we'd hate to be denied our fix.
