only seen one BSG and it looked like every actor went to a cut rate version of the nicolus cage al pacino school of overacting and then watched womens networks for a few years to get perspective.

I guess it depends on what that one show was.

Early on, it certainly lacked polish. I'll give you that.

it was fairly recently but I don't know if it was an old show or not.... everyone was overacting and way too dramatic.   I have found that actors don't seem to change if they are overactors tho... least not in a season or so.

the acting in firefly is very steady... for instance.

I don't know why but Katee Sackhoff does it for me.  Maybe it's the tomboy thing....who knows.
