yup, leaving tomorrow, and land on friday somehow???

but yeah, im off to disney and stuff with my family, and doing other stuff along the way. any florida natives know anything cool to go see?

are there any good aviation museums, or fun days out that anyone could recommend?

oooh, and whats the weather like over there at the moment?? its about 10 degrees here in london (centigrade that is), so anything warmer and sunnier than that is gonna be great.

im hoping for some sun, because im looking forward to messing around at blizzard beach. last time i went we spent 3 days there

hurricane expected to run right thru tampa orlando area..its a cat 5 now, should be in the area on sunday...though it may change course i would seriously rethink your plans as of the moment..keep an eye on the storm track as all this may change..gl and stay safe...Fantasy of Flight is outside of Orlando in the LandO'Lakes i believe..easily driveable..if u can, kiss some *** to one of the guides for a private tour of planes that are being restored in some of the hangars..i got to see a 109 being restored..was sweet.

Monday is suppose to be the best weather of the year after the storm blows through. It will be humid until the storm makes it way through but if it doesn't stall, next week should be great.

Fantasy of Flight is about 30 min west of disney on I-4 - worth the trip

Looks like Flying Tigers Restoration is moving out of Kissimmee to GA this fall. If it is still there, it is worth the visit as well.

Universal Studios, includling Islands of Adventure, is great and more geared to adults and older kids. If you have young kids, they will love Disney. Epcot, Sea World & MGM Studios are a blast as well.

OK, to everyone in the AH community and please pass this on to your friends and family. It is not a good idea to visit Florida in the late summer/early autumn. Mid November through May is the absolute best time to be here. The weather is great, not to hot and no Hurricanes.

Just a little advice from one of the natives.

If you care to go to Pensacola, FL, you'll find the Navy's museum of aviation. An awesome place to visit.

I grew up in Jacksonville, and I've been to Fantasy of Flight plenty of times. It's on I-4 exactly between Orlando and Tampa... The hangar is cool, and the simulators are a lot like AH, but with a real cockpit... Defintiely go there, but take your own generator, as they may not have power after Wilma

baaa New update ....

Only Cat 1 at landfall way south of Micky World and poof gone Sun PM.

Will be picked up in a strong westerly jet and will go away fast, next week weather will be perfect.

Enjoy your trip!!!

I bet Orlando will not even get rain only a few high level clouds.

I remember Katrina was suppose to go across Florida and then hit the Panhandle of it when it came into the gulf originally. That 1 changed too.

Eglin AFB near Pensacola. Do some deep sea fishing. And it's Flroida, unless there is a hurricane, it's going to be sunny and hot. Have a good trip:aok
