... when people from several different game communities come here to these AcesHigh webboards in order to flaunt or tout what they feel is, or will be, the best.   :)

Oh, I don't know, sometimes they just want to share excitement they have about something they like, like I used to when I visited AGW, but they took AH as a threat (as well they should have looking back now!)...so, some of its gloating, some of it is just sharing an excitement.

Well.

There's some of that in there too. Some.

Of course.. some of it is just people trying to convince us <and themselves> that they have gone on to greener pastures.

I don't really mind it except when they slam HTC when doing it.  There's just something that irritates me about someone coming to HTC's site and ridiculing them or their work.

I use to play Red Baron 3D, then I came here.

I didn't go to the message boards or anything proclaiming I found the ultimate WWII combat simulation and it whooped RB3D's ass.. Me, Wab and DJ flew here for a while and convinced a number of our squad mates to come try it out.

THe only people I care about giving information of a new game to are my squad mates, and those are really the only people I expect to be telling me about newer games.

If you just drop a note about a new game and leave it at that, giving me your view (I only need to read it once to get the jist of it) on the product then I got no problem with it. BUT to come to HTC's own UBB, using their webspace and bandwidth to advertise their new toy repeatedly and relentlessly is like me going into a Toyota dealership saying "TOYOTA SUCKS!!!! THERE'S A AWESOME NEW HONDA AND I HAVE IT RIGHT OUTSIDE! C'MON GUYS SCREW TOYOTA, CHECK OUT THIS HONDA!!!"
