Saitek, calibration & pots
« on: October 21, 2005, 09:11:58 AM »
The other day I pulled an old Saitek Cyborg Gold USB stick outta mothballs. Of the 20 or so j-stix I've owned, this is my all time favorite. Only trouble is, it constantly goes out of calibration.

First question: What causes that to happen?

Second question: Aside from recalibrating every 3 minutes, can it be fixed? I assume it to be a matter of bad pot(entiometer)s.

Thanks in advance

electical contact cleaner works best for the pots , But sometimes its harmfull to plastics .. so its best to hold the pots out of the stick when cleaning them ..

I caved and bought a Saitek X52 and plan to bury the Cyborg out back next to the parakeets. So far I'm loving the new stick. If anyone has profiles they'd like to share, please let me know. I'll PM an e-mail addy.

Thanks for all the help folks :aok
