Warping, not intentional on my part
« on: October 30, 2005, 10:11:13 PM »
Wow, seems like I have had a lot of mini warps going on lately and I was wondering if it is localised to my connect or if its wider spread.

I have relogged several times when I get a PM or Channel 200 telling me I am warping and seems to be good for awhile and then it starts again.

Not much I can do about the line, as I am at the end of it and DSL or Cable will be a long time coming. Dial up and 56K are here to stay for me for a long time

So to those who see me warping around the sky, sorry, its not intentional, and I will relog as soon as I can if told.

Sounds like you're doing the best you can, and all anyone could ever ask of you, no worries here, and I'll let you know if it's getting out of hand :aok

You could try and post in tech support. Im sure Skuzzy has  few ideas to find out if the problem is on your end or if its the ISP. Or send an email to support@hitechcreations.com .

In tech support forum is also some sticky for hints and tips on connection trouble.

TuneUp Utilities

Goto http://www.download.com and download "TuneUp Utilities 2006."

It gives you a 30 day trial, and apart from fixing errors in your registry etc., recovering dead hard drive space,  it also has a brilliant toolkit for "tweaking" your MTU settings (Maximum Transmission Unit).
This increases the performance of your current connection, just select the appropriate one from those available and it does the rest.
Just follow prompts for "Optimize and Improve".

Very good if playing using dialup, as I used too for the best part of two years.
No warps and very very few disco's.
