Yankees News Confrence on ESPN
« on: November 07, 2005, 05:57:53 PM »
First let me say Im not a Yankee fan

Ok so We have ESPN on right now and they are showing a NY YANKEES News confrence or so we thought
And the GM gets up says a few words then sits down to take some questions.

"Steve Steve Steve" the reporters 30 or so are chanting and  jumping up and waving their hands around try to get his attention like a bunch of housdogs begging for scraps of tablefood"

I notice this and look over at my son and say "Look at em. the are acting like a bunch of pathetic animals"

This scene plays out the same over and over again as he answers the questions  and Yankees historical facts as well as possible available players around the league are shown in a little side bar.

My son and myself are watching this almost surreal scene
when all of a sudden on the top of the screen a bar comes up with the words
"Simulated Yankees News Confrence"

My son and I just look at each other and say
WTF???

Thats pretty much my feelings also.  I dispise the Yankees
But when ESPN started showing the thing Im thinking there is some sort of major annoucement comming. Just the way the whole thing went down.

I'll listen if just to hear when they have to say
I figured they had baught themselves another superstar.

this was just weird but seemed real because it seemed like it was going ot be something important just the way it went down.

the gm meetings just started and we just got to the point where free agents can negotiate with other teams.. still way too early..

no real big names i can see this year in the FA pool tho, other then maybe konerko and a couple others.. yanks need a CF, but supposedly dont wanna go after damon cuz he beat the crap out of himself by years end and is on the downward side of 30

sox need.. power 1b, cf, mrp, sp, sp... gonna be an interesting offseason..
