LRA Kills Christian Aid Worker and Wife in Sudan

Hi Guys,

I spotted a story this week that directly concerns other incidents that we have been discussing in various threads.

On occasion, the "Lord's Resistance Army" has been cited as an example of a Christian terrorist organization. However, it is becoming increasingly apparent that Joseph Kony's cult army was never even remotely Christian in its orientation and is now developing stronger ties with the Sudanese government (who are arming and supplying them) and carrying out proxy attacks on Christians and Christian aid workers in Northern Uganda and Southern Sudan. The LRA has a history of burning churches and attacking pastors, but until now has limited its activities to Northern Uganda. Now that they are operating out of Sudanese safe havens it looks like they are paying their benefactors back in blood.

Twenty militants attacked Collin Lee, his wife Hedwig Unrau Lee, and their Sudanese driver on Saturday (November 5) as they traveled to the southern Sudanese town of Yei from Uganda. “Collin was a man after God’s own heart,” said Elias Kamau, his friend and International Aid Services colleague. “He felt that he had a calling from God, and he had a real sense of urgency to accomplish that goal. His death is a shock to us as an organization.” The Ugandan army held the Lord’s Resistance Army, a politically ambiguous group known for terrorizing civilians, responsible for the murder.

Amongst the many things that I will never understand about EU and US policy, is the fact that we still buy oil from the Sudanese. Personally, I'd rather walk than pay for one more Sudanese AK-47.

People die from horrible reasons everyday why is this so special? Because they are Christian? Can someone say Agenda,

How many stories of this exact same nature has seagoon posted that DIDNT involve Christians?

I did read it just like I have read a bunch of his other post of the same nature and its always the same. Christians getting killed in Arab lands.

No mention of the christian atrocities that occured prior to the "christian" killings.

Look man I have no love nor hate towards either side. I hate extremists in either side. But I call this one as I see it. Perhaps you have the link, cause I dont see it? I have seen plenty of these links by Seagoon and If you dig into them it invariably turns out that its tit-for-tat. But dont take my word, go look. I can pull back several of these "alledged attorcities" and show that the Christians gave as good as they got.

If you do a search on the keywords "Resistance Army" on the AH BB over the last year, you get roughly 34 O'Club hits and almost every time the LRA was initially mentioned, it was in the context of asserting that they are a "Christian" Terror organization.

I spotted the article I referenced not because I was intending to prepare something for the BB, but because I was putting together a prayer calendar for the persecuted church and I thought it illustrated a point I'd made earlier - namely that Kony's cult a) is Not a Christian Terror Group, b) actually makes a practice of targeting Christians and c) is currently operating out of Sudan as a proxy army for the government in Khartoum. I had hoped that when it once again comes time for people to fish around vainly in search of a modern Christian parrallel for the Jihadists, that at least the LRA wouldn't get mentioned  yet again.

As far as having an agenda goes Raider, my life has an agenda (1 Cor. 10:31). However, I have no secret agenda, if that's what you mean, just the blatantly obvious 500 pound gorilla one. I really do try to be as transparent as possible. Ask me what I think on any given subject and I'll endeavor to give you as honest an answer as I can.

Anyway, my apologies if I gave you the wrong impression.

             First I want so say as always I enojoy debates with you. You obviousy are intelligent and dont mean to say otherwise. I do however feel you are biased (as you are free to be) about christian atrocities. You do only post 1 side of the story and never post what the "christians' did prior to said atrocities. I feel that mainstream religion is a cause of and not a solution to most of our current problems.
         
              I would like to know what you think we should do to make things better between the western world and the muslims.

yea let's just go back in time to 1945 when word of the holucost got out.  Let's just say "how many times have we heard that Nazis were bad, yea we know they commited atrocities but why does this story have a jewish slant/bias to it?"

Ignore it and it will get worse.  This is a specific targeting of a religion.  Some might call it pre-genocide.  Of course these are just christians which probably voted for bush some way or another so they probably deserved it huh raider.

Its not just some anti-christian movement, like I said do some research and you will see its tit-for-tat going on.

I also believe that religious propaghanda from either side also causes more violence. We should either fight to win or not be there. You disagree with that?
