Off topic, but weren't you in JG54? Why go from a LW to a USAF named squad? Seems you'd already shown the interest in LW in joining JG54 in the first place.
Just curious.
Yes, in fact I was one of a few great guys that started JG 54 GRUNHERZ and I was proud to be it's first Kommodore or C.O. We started with a great group of experenced guys from several past squads and we had a great run while we did. In fact I say looking back we were pretty much the ONLY LW squad of any size flying exclusively in the CT when everyone else was flying Allied. We kept doing this to try and bring more folks in to fly in the CT, frankly because at the time most of us couldn't stand MA flying.
I had to leave JG54 ages ago and turn over command to others as at the time my job with the Fire Dept. and going to school to get my Paramedic ticket had to take precidence. Since that time JG 54 has went it's own way. As many of the other pilots of the squad did that left not long after I did - many can be found now in the HELLS ANGLES in the MA. (Trators!

)
As for why I went from flying LW to a US squad - well JG 54 has that covered and most I see flying in the CT now are flying LW planes - SO... to help the CT out and get it back to it's glory days we there were many squads that flew in the CT - we will start an Allied squad. The 78th FG "DUXFORD EAGLES".
Also, it doesn't matter to me as I have been in about every kind of squad there is in several different sims. Here is a list of my previous Squads:
Warbirds: JG 51 "Molders"
27th Sentai
No.305 Sqdn. RAF (Polish)
Dawn of Aces:Jasta 12
Aces High:63rd FS, 56th FG "Wolfpack"
VF-27 "Hellcats"
27th Sentai
325th FG "Checkertails"
NO. 800 Sqdn. F.A.A.
JG 3 "Udet"
322nd BG (M) "Annihilators"
78th FG "Duxford Eagles"
JG 54 "Grunherz"
CT Staff
Wings Over Vietnam:VF-84 "Jolly Rogers"
It's not the aircraft you fly but HOW you fly and the guys you fly with. I have learned something everywhere I flew and made what I consider to be some of my best friends while flying.
Hope that answered you Krusty, didn't mean to write a novel.
HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
