Need some help here. It's been a while since I have bought tires and my wife decided to drive the kids to school today on a flat. the rim looks untouched but the tire is shredded. I don't really know what my budget is but I will be replacing all 4 soon anyways. It's for her 2002 Mustang GT Size 245 45ZR17 If anyone can offer sugestions I'd appreciate it. PS I do not need high performance or anything.

EDIT: we don't need anything for snow

The http://www.tirerack.com has a good tire selector thingie, you could start there, then if you want a brand-name tire, write the price down (with shipping) and go shopping outside the net. You'll most likely come back to Tirerack and buy them there after you see their competitive prices.

if your really want budget ..buy a used tire..many out there to be found..call around local tire stores..

many many "ballers" dump there stock tires from mustangs and buy 18's and so on..new rims and such...they just "donate" there tires to the tire store

I used to find tires for the Benzo for 20$...completly safe

Guns, I've always been partial to Goodyear, Micheleins (farggin french bastidges, haven't bought one since Reagan smacked down Kadaffi) and Goodrich. Also had real good luck with Kelly-Springfields, which were made alongside Goodyear brands.. wuz able to just buy good tires without paying for the silly blimp.

I was looking at those online $110 a piece, not bad. but, my wife talked to a guy today that has stock tires and rims off of an 05 mustang GT with only a few miles on them for $400.

Big fan of Michelin Pilot Sport.
Very good perfomance tires but expensive.

Gun,

I used to get the tires on my Saturn from Walmart, which I found had just about the cheapest prices on new tires, however, these days the car is so old, I just go ahead and get a pair of good condition used tires from a local store down the road. Last set cost me $20 each for a pair of used Kellys including installation and they are still going strong.
