I'm not done. I need weathering and wear and tear, plus I want to redo some minor details.

I've linked the image because I'm using my own bandwidth here (picture hangar is still down) and my bandwidth it limited. It's 1.4MB so I figured every time this page loads so does the image, and you can view the image once and not have it load a dozen times if you come back to this thread a dozen times.

Anywys: I don't know how I got away with dark green/black green in the old skin, because that was incorrect (it was my first skin, cut me some slack!). I've corrected that, and created a starboard side that's similar to the port, but I have no references to this so its speculation.

Panel lines and rivets are all scratch from a 1/24th Airfix model I have sitting on my desk right now, so I'm 99% sure they're as accurate as they can be.

Enjoy! The first of many! (hopefully)

In general you are correct, however Airfix in their early days did things right. They actually went out and made thousands of measurements off of real items. Cars, planes, they used real examples and real measurements. That's why I'm 99% sure it's pretty good.

I don't trust some of the new ones. I built a relatively new 72nd Hasegawa 109E and it was pure crap, from control surfaces to panel lines. I didn't like it one bit.

EDIT: For example, the early 60s Spitfire (I think it's the SpitMk1a) is still considered the best representation of the Spit even when compared to all the newly-tooled kits today. That's been said many a time.

Looks pretty good!  But, one thing thats bothering me is that it seems too bright.  Since it is a painted plane, I would think that it would be a little more drab.  But, thats just IMO.  Good work!

I've dulled it down a bit weathering-wise, but I need to tweak the materials before I'm happy, and that means waiting for the new skins viewer.
