Was he the worst aircraft designer ever?  I'm perplexed, for a plane that was supposedly so good, it absolutely sucks.  Horribly.  I bet when toD comes out the b17 will outrun the A8 at altitude rofl.  What gives?

No matter how good the plane and pilot, when you've got 7 guys on ya, the odds are you are gonna get killed :)

Gotta love those Spits :)

Ate to much for Thanksgiving per usual.  It was a very empty day though as there were two very important people missing.  Made it hard to enjoy.  But we did our best :)

Hope yours was a good one as well.

Someone has yet to explain to me why the heaviest allied planes such as the P47, F4U and P38 are more nimble and stall resistant than the late 109s and 190s.  Going from one to the other feels like going from a yacht to a speedboat. ..

Kurt Tank was a genius. The first 190s completely outclassed the Spit V. By the way, he outran a flight of 12 Mustangs whilst personally testing the Ta 152.......  :rofl :rofl :rofl

Something about knights not cooperating and every single one of us need to attack 47, yet 10 needs defending, everyone defend 10 while everyone else attacks 47 or we will lose the war...

I was trying to intercept a formation of loaded lancs otw to HQ  27-32k, in FW190A8 , Was on Trininity, i took off 4-5 sectors in front of them to have time to climb . They outrun and outclimb my A8 , after i was close to them ,coalt around 28k
Last week after K-4 came out, we set up a mission to intercept on HQ raid @30-32k, in K-4s and Ta152s.
The loaded  B17s and B24s are ridiculos fast up there, it's hard to catch them not to make fast passes on them. K-4s  died all, 1 or 2 Ta152s survieved.
Luftwaffe is dead, i wonder who's going to play the "turkeys" , for Axis in ToD !

some of my most spectacularly satisfying fights have been in 190s and 109s.  long as you stay away from the dora pos, and the faster 109s you wont notice much difference between the 109F (for example) and the spitfire mk9. 190A5 will give a ponyD a good fight too.

its just a matter of knowing what makes the luft birds sing.
And I don't know much, but I do know this. With a golden heart comes a rebel fist.

Can't say for the P-47 or the Corsair but as for the P-38, it has a lower stall speed than any of the LW fighters and a far more gentle stall characteristic.
