Gotta love it.
Found not guilty in the criminal case yet in the civil guilty LOL.


Hows that work ok your free to go no murder on your rap sheet no prison time.
But ok here you must pay 30million for a crime you where found innocent of.

It must be the one your not using .

Think about it for a minute he is either guilty or not and I remember he was found not guilty in the murder trial.

I know that criminal and civil cases are tried differently but in these cases I dont know why that is.

Now is that really the best way to show you intelligence or lack there of.

I've never really understood it...in OJ's case, the Goldman family called it justice..but it's not at all...but to me it's (loosley) like having a car crash, being found not liable - but still having to pay for the damages, and the other side claiming because I was forced to pay, the accident was my fault after all?!?

I still don't get how you can be found not guilty criminally but still liable?

Exactly.  They are allowed to introduce reams of evidence that were inadmissable in the stricter rules of the Criminal case, but are perfectly admissable in the Civil case.  The extra evidence, whatever it was, obviously made a difference.

Not quite. In criminal court you are judged by reasonable doubt. In civil it's by preponderance of the evidence.

In other words, you only have to show more evidence than the defense.

I understand how it works. I just don't understand why it is allowed

Is it right? Granted I feel that both OJ and Blake were guilty, but a jury thought otherwise. Is it right to have been exonerated and then still have to pay in another court? Maybe there should be a ban on that sort of thing.

Also.

Heard it being talked about last night that in Cali
In the criminal case they needed a 100% majority in favor of guilty to convict.

In Civil they only need a majority in favor of guilty
