Different VOX problem
« on: November 15, 2005, 11:45:07 AM »
Recently, my squaddies have been telling me my vox fades in and out and breaks up.

I tried 3 mics, no luck.

I installed an Audigy 2 sound card.  Works perfectly when I record and playback my voice.   However, in the game, they are still saying it fades and breaks up.   Problem is with my AH setup somehow.

VOX works, but it's eratic.

Any ideas?

You could try the 'wave in' box in setup>preferences>voice. Which ever way you have it, try the opposite just to see if it changes. Also if any other voice type programs are used they may change your ideal AH2 setings for voice. Double check to make sure they are how you want them.
Off the wall idea. Is your mic/headset known to be working?
I was having sound issues with my headset and I opened it up and found some frayed wires. Tough thing to just open up and check them but if you have a spare  one to see if it happens with that one.

Actually thinking about it I've had a similar problem with the Audigy sound card for a long time. So far as I know my vox doesn't fade in and out, but the actual game sound volume rises and falls in sudden spikes. I can't remember when it started or if it's always been there. But at times it can be annoying. I've found that exiting the game and coming back in usually cures the problem for a couple more hours.
Most of the people you meet in life are like slinkies. Pretty much useless, but still bring a smile to your face when you push them down the stairs.

Sometimes I think I have alzheimers. But then I forget about it and it's not a problem anymore.

This problem is AH related

Yeah, but I had the problem before I installed the card.

I am noticing that I get a lag sometimes.......mouse clicks are delayed response, text comes up a second later...    when I am experiencing those problems, the VOX problem returns.
