Joystick Right Turn Only
« on: November 29, 2005, 10:55:13 PM »
New to AH.

Just trying to get the basics of the dang joystick to work.

I'm using the CH Fighterstick and CH Pro Pedals both USB.

I get good deflection for Right Aileron and Right Rudder inputs.

I get no deflection for Left Aileron and Left Rudder inputs.

ANY help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Did you calibrate the JS and Pedals in Windows?

Did you calibrate the JS and Pedals in AH? (setup, controls, joystick, calabrate joystick)

Did you assign the proper axis to the proper controls in AH? (setup, controls, joystick, select joystick)

I did calibrate in both.

I just got it to work...
I cheated the AH calibration by not moving controls to Right when it asks for the full range of motion move.

Thanks for the reply!

stilgar,

There are trim tabs at the bottom of your JS.. make sure they are centered during and after calibration.

Thanks again.

Thanks for reminding me about the trim tabs, I did check them again though :-) I've played a few games with this equipment (notably MS Flight Sim).

I've worked more on this one and successfully used the CH Control Manager to work out the idiosyncrasies (humbly mostly my own).
I now have full axis controls without cheating the calibrations.

What I ultimately did:
 * I uninstalled CH Control Manager due to being an ancient version.
 * I installed a newer version of the CH Control Manager.
 * I re-read the help files (AH & CH  haha)

I now have keymapped everything as I think I want it, with definite room for improvement.

A little more practice and you all should see me flying in the next week or so.

Thanks again :)
