Well, my old trusty MS stick finally failed it's last repair, and after a solid 6 years,  hit the pile of parts section of my game room.

I bought, after careful consideration of many, Saitek X52.

Good Grief, what a stick. The control is amazing, and the buttons are many :)

The only problem, I have to get a new installation disk as the factory one is porked.  It loads from Windows just fine, but the options to make some of the sliders and that nifty little onboard mouse won't work with the Windows standard driver.

Highly Recommended!

Any one use this and have their best configuration handy?  It's going to take a while to get this one tuned, took 6 years on the old one to fine tune it lol

I'm pretty sure you can use the drivers and software here:

Thanks Curval.

64 bit won't run on a non 64 bit system.  I haven't changed over to the newer 64bit winxp yet, not sure I will.

I did get the full version from the ftp site, the techs at saitek were very helpful and hooked me up with a direct link.  They don't like to publish the link so I was rather grateful they gave it to me.

This stick is quite nice, completely suprised me how much of a difference it made in flying.  I've had the same stick type for over 10 years now, and I was completely stunned at the differences.   6 years on the last stick, The first stick lasted almost 4 years, it broke, the 2nd one had a rather short life span as it came in contact with a wall during a rather irratating night of flying :)
