Skins directory naming problem
« on: November 30, 2005, 12:33:40 PM »
When you are making custom skins you can take the name of the folder "X" and add a number to the end, so if you were skinning an F-4 the name would be "109f4" and whatever the number is would be added, so 109f41 109f42...109f415.

From what I understand you are allowed up to 15 of these (or maybe it was 20 when you're offline).

However the 190A8 doesn't honor this system. It stops reading directory names past "190a87". If I name a directory anything higher, it will list it in the hangar but if you select it the drop box instantly reverts to "Default" (it's basically unselectable).

I was having some problems with this and didn't figure it out until now. I put the skins in high numbers ("190a810, 11, 12" - I have 3 skin directories for the 190a8) so that when I was offline I would still be able to view the skins in the skin pack as well (if I wanted to compare/contrast or anything). The skin viewer displays them just fine no matter what number they use, but in-game it seems to stop at 190a87. I found this out by renaming the files several times, until when I named them "7, 8, 9" only the "7" would be selectable, the others and anything numbered higher were not working.
