Setup for 2 Dec.
« on: November 30, 2005, 11:33:27 AM »
CT,

This weeks setup is purely non-historical, but is a battle that has raged on for years since 1890.

Some know, but most dont' that I am a Naval Academy grad, class of 1994.  This saturday marks the 106th clash between the Midshipmen USNA and the Assses of West Point. :P  Therefore I am throwing together a setup which will pit the US Army Air Corps agains the US Navy.

Not decided as of yet which map will be used, but initial thoughts for layout will have early war plances closest to the front, with the late-war rides set back a bit.

:aok

That's an odd idea.

Just thinking about the planes involved, it would seem the USN has the advantage in the early war and mid war, and the USAF has the distinct advantage in the late war.

Should be fun. What about a map like Solomons or okinawa, it has plenty of land bases and CVs.

Grits, take no offense in the fact that I'll be trying to kick navy's arse while I'm flying army.

(And army fans ditto for when I'm trying to kick army's arse while flying navy!)

I thought you were just using the cheer on the CT setup lol. Yes I know about the army/navy game. Don't follow football too closely, though.

They're easy.  You just put their flaps down at 250mph and they can't stall.  That combined with their bullets that don't have any drop and your ready to shoot anything down.

Or so I hear.

Unless your flying the pony. Flaps come down at 400mph and its as fast as a 109G10 and if a enemy is 800+ out dont worry about not geting hits because you will.

Then none of you LuftWhiners should get shot down one time this week. Being that you all fly the "hard" planes and all.:D

Sorry Guys,

This sounds like something better suited to the SEA. The CT should be for "Historical" and "Historical Based" combat set-up's.

Just my opinion.

In any event - GO NAVY! BEAT ARMY!  :aok

with the same planeset on both sides, you would have the option of taking the plane out of the equation

I'm game - all for historical but up for fun/variety too
