Well, yesterday late afternoon, I was in a 51 and had been goon hunting up to 10. Instead I found a B-17 trying to land so naturally, being the cad I am, I waxed it.
I picked up an F4U and another 51 who tried to run me down. Luckily I had saved my wep and managed to beat cheeks to I think 7. Anyway, turns out Fedral had just launched in a C47 to try to take another field. I saw a dot just up but had no idea it was a 47.
In effect, I dragged a C-Hog right to Fedral. As soon as I saw Fedral I advised he run to AAA but it was too late. The hog saw him, left my tail, and took out the 47.
It was completely an accident. But toejam happens. Just a fact of life. On the other hand, I didn't do it on purpose and tried to make passes on the CHog and eventually got some hits before running out of gas.
Can't comment on the events above. If it was running to another target to get the trail to switch, well, then that is truly low. If, however, it was looking for help, or as in my case a con so close on my six that we both saw the 47 (or whatever) about the same time, then it is just the way it goes.
Also, the response given can have a lot to do with the original comments lobbed.
