Room hosting problem
« on: November 25, 2005, 09:27:38 PM »
I have in the past (approx. 1 month ago) successfully hosted my "Skeeto's Teams" room. But ever since the new 2.06 upgrade I've been unable to accept players into it. Now I do have 2 computers running off a DSL router.  And I have been able to see my room listed on the games clipboard from the other computer but have been unable to connect to it.  I'm assuming for the same reason I'm not getting other players. Anyone have an idea how I can correct this problem ?

Check your firewall.  The IP addresses for Aces High II changed with "Version 2.05 Patch 3" and later.  Also, everytime we do an upgrade/patch, your firewall will probably need to be reset, if it is a software firewall.

Also, disable any anti-virus program as well.

Hi Skuzzy, I'm using windows firewall and I have AH plugged into it as "exception" so it should not be blocking. I have also disabled my norton antivirus and disabled script blocking...........Is there anything else I can do ?, because I still have the same problem not being able to access my room and I have let it stand for 1/2 hour so I could see if anyone else might have tried getting into it, but it appeared "0" particapants for the entire time.

After doing some research of past articles on this subject I was able to find this set of instructions: _____________________________ _________________1. Don't disable any firewalls  2. Give internet access rights for aceshigh.exe  3. Give ingoing & outgoing rights for TCP & UDP protocol between ports 2000-5000 range  4.  Allow connection from any IP-Address with TCP & UDP protocol from internet side (to connect your host)  5.  If you have a router, then create router rule like number 3 with trigger port 3002 _____________________________ _________________This list of instructions was posted by XJAZZ in a related thread and was recommended to be stickied to the "technical forums" page by another poster. The only problem I have with this set of instructions is that I will first need to invest 2 years in an associates degree in computer sciences in order to initiate them.:lol _____________________________ __________There must be a way to explain this in laymen's terms.:huh
