High Alt FPS Problem
« on: December 10, 2005, 10:34:36 AM »
Here we go,

Down low and in a Furball my FPS sits around 60-80 with the detail maxed out, so no problem, right?

Wrong,

Once I climbout thru the cloud / mist layer, my frame rate drops down to 3-5 FPS and the micro pauzes make it un-flyable, if I drop down below the cloud layer the frame rate picks back up to the 60-80 FPS again....

this is driving me nuts and it started with the last patch....

Any ideas?

The PUTZ doesn't like alt monkeys? :noid

j/k,  that's a pretty weird problem...  maybe somehow one of teh detail sliders being set to max is trying to draw all the crap from way up high, despite the cloud layer supposedly being there to reduce exactly this?  did you experiement with the sliders, toning them down a bit, perhaps?

I'm always right, it just takes some poepl longer to come to that realization than others.
