no spin....direct quote.

Some of you guys are funny.  As far as I know these are DIRECT quotes from people....not spin.  Some of this stuff is just hard to take out of context.  SO far I havn't found one that was missleading or incorrect.

PS  RPM  that was his response to a question reguarding progress in Iraq.  Remember "I have a plan" and it must not be a positive one.

Whether you like it or not ... Iraqis should be doing that." -- John Kerry slams the troops again
The quote was accurate, the commentary was not.

You have to agree the Iraqi's need to bet stepping up to the plate and us quit doing their job for them, right?
My mind is a raging torrent, flooded with rivulets of thought cascading into a waterfall of creative alternatives.

Sure I totally agree and they are....every day.  The last elections they ran most of the show.  This election they are running almost all the show.  They've took over security for the city of Mosule among others.

What most people are mad about this comment because it's a popshot (even if indirect) at our troops as an answer to a question about progress in Iraq.

No it's not.  I thought you were trolling in that thread you posted that in.  You can't actually read that, and think it's a shot at our troops?

I think that the problem with Kerrys statement is that his premise is that Americans are entering Iraqi homes and "Terrorizing" women and children.

"Terrorize" has some connotations that are objectionable, and if you parse his quote he is actually advocating that Iraqi troops should be terrorizing women and children at night, and breaking religious customs.

I am sure that is not what he meant, but it is what he said.  It was a mis-statement on several levels.

Yeah, I agree he could have said it better.  But then, I don't think much of him, so I guess I don't expect much.  Terrorize is correct, by definition (if I had soldiers busting down my door, it'd scare the piss outta me, even if they had a reason to do it), but it sure can bring up other thoughts.

If I had soldiers busting down my door, I'd be all like "Dude, WTF!, that was my DOOR!"
& they'd be saying "FU man, we're the ARMY, we do what we like"
& I'd be like "FU[/i]. you owe me an F'in' DOOR[/i]"

And to think, I once thought Pat Buchanan was merely a harmless bigot and racist.  How wrong I was.

Pat Buchanan was RIGHT about that... think about it... Germany invades Poland... Great Britain and France declare war.... we win the war and then the Poles endure 50 years of occupation under an even more harsh dictatorship than the one we were liberating them from...  That makes perfect sense... go pat go!

Do soldiers carry tasers...'cause if so, the ending to this story could be most entertaining! :D

Well yes and no.

There was no way Hitler was going to stop with poland
Hitler was going to invade France no matter what. Seems he held a bit of a grudge the way the first WW ended.
The next logical step would have to be England. Thus insuring a free ru of the atlantic.
From what I remember he actually liked the English.
But I doubt the English were going to submit to German rule or become German allies which brings us right back to square 1.
War with England
Death is no easy answer
For those who wish to know
Ask those who have been before you
What fate the future holds
It ain't pretty

Farrakhan's quote after Katrina should be number 1.  Hell, it wasn't even mentioned.

I retract the "it wasn't mentioned portion".  It still should be First.
