Bulgarian 109s changed markings in 1941, but the Es retained their colors under the new markings. Often the markings were painted directly over the old ones, which were still visible around the edges. The color profile is what I used for inspiration, but the black and white photo confirms the color scheme, and hints at a non-standard (that is, non-LW) wing pattern. I did my best to guesstimate based on the photo.
Now, I have a problem.. I know this plane belonged to
"3rd Squadron, 3rd Group, 6th Fighter Regiment,"
but I don't know how to abbreviate that (I don't know much about Bulgarian naming conventions).
"3 Sq/3rd Group, 6th F Reg" is a rough guess, but that's not the official (accurate) way of doing it.
Found some reference (not sure if it's accurate) that described 3rd group/6th ftr reg as "3/6" -- so I just need to know how to describe the squadron
"3 Sq, 3/6" something like that.
