Most V-1's were not even "shot down" once they figured out what they were.

Shooting V-1s full of a few hundred pounds of explosives...no thanks!

They did use air pressure to override the gyro and flip the V-1.

There's a video somewhere I saw a while back of a Gloster Meteor spotting a V2. He chased after it and eventually he caught up to it and when he got in range of it, his guns jammed. So he pulled along side it and nudged at one of his fins with his wing nocking it off course. Thats what I was referring too, I don't know if it's false or not (probably is) that's why I said "rumored", etc.

Ok my bad, it was probably a V1, but there is a video out there of what I said happened. Still trying to find it.
