Perk Point/Score Multipliers
« on: December 23, 2005, 11:49:08 AM »
Did some searching and haven't found these ideas yet..

Some sort of multiplyer for different states of landing.

For instance: Numbers used for discussion purposes only.

Heavy bomber mission with duration of 1 hour or more, 1.15 x points awarded on succesfull landing.  So 1000 points for normal landing in today's world would be 1150 points now. ( not to be confused with perk points .. but multiplyer could be smilar )

Succesfull landing with various levels of plane removed by enemy gunfire ( not killshooter damage )..

Elevators/Rudders gone: 10% bonus
Aelerons gone: 5 % bonus
half wing missing: 25% bonus
Horizontal stabilizer gone: ???
Pilot wound: ???
Belly landing due to gear damage ( counts as plane loss if you just forgot ): ???
100% Engines destroyed ( dead stick ):  ???
50% Engines destroyed: ???

Basically, this might encourage those who suffer damage during an attack to make an attempt to break off the engagement and return to base.

It may also encourage those who avoid fights except when condidtions are just right so their planes don't get jeapordized to actually mix it up a little and take some hits.

Of course, things like running out of gas because you had poor fuel management wouldn't qualify, but fuel leaks caused by damage would.. nor would damage you gained due to killshooter penalties.

Just a thought that's been nagging at me for a few years.  Especially after finishing up a 1.5 hour bombing mission with having 2 engines shot out, gear half gone, no ammo left, 2 kills and missing rudder and actually able to rtb after a full sector past the nearest base because it was 'hot'.

Yeah did an hour long Lanc mission last night, would be nice but I don't think it would fly.
