Article from the Washington Post:

Does anybody have an idea of the capabilities of the 10th Mountain Division?

The 10th mountain was my last duty assignment on the Army!! The 10th is a light infantry division that can move very quickly. They use mostly foot soldiers and humvees pulling 105 howitzers. While I was there what I saw of them was that the foot soldiers ran almost all day everyday. Us light wieght aviation bumms ran three times a week 4 miles each time. The 10th is very gung ho and they will get the job done!!! I wish I was still in the Army I would probably be in the 10th or her sister company in Oahu. Dont remember the unit number. The 10th when I was there had no tanks dont think it has changed that is why the Light Infantry designation.
We had the big 5ton trucks to move our support equipment and were assigned at that time to the support battalion. I was there from 1986 to 1988. Not sure the unit I was in is still under same name it was 247th but changed while I was there cant remember if that was the last name or just the next in line, we were E company once.

Well, you actually swear to defend the Constitution, but I'm with you on this one
Man, I wonder how long it would take me to get in enough shape to pass a PT test today, even with my adjusted age modifier.

The 25th's nick name is "Tropic Lightning." It is garrisoned at Schofield Barracks and Wheeler Airfield in the central plateau on the island of Oahu, Hawaii. Oahu has pretty rough terrain to train on.
The division patch has a red leaf from a tropical plant (tarrot?) and a yellow lightning bolt. The patch has been unofficially called the electric strawberry.
