Fun turn fight in a P-38
« on: December 24, 2005, 12:27:37 PM »
I was flying in the MA the other day in my usual P-38L ride when I ended up engaging an A6M5 and a P-38J. Both were after a squadie “Maddog” who was in Lancasters if I recall. The P38 had alt advantage at the end of the line, I was next trying to close on the Zeke who in turn was working on the Lancasters flown by Maddog. The Zeke managed to damage or shoot down one of the Lancasters who in turn was shot down. The high P-38J made a couple passes at me and I managed to evade still trying to stay with Maddog. Finally the higher 38 lost his alt advantage and he and I began a turn fight from about 8k down to the deck. At first he seemed to be gaining the edge but after about 4 full circles we both remained about the same distance on an opposite radius to each other. Finally with out any more alt to expend we are both stall turning on the deck. My WEP was used up so that was of little help, but I kept dropping flaps. Slower and slower we turned the endless three sixty. I think we must have turned on the deck no less than six times when I finally began to creep up on him. It was wild. To make a long story short I was literally pulling the trigger when another enemy came in and blasted me out of the sky. DOH! :) I saw him coming but hoped for the best. LOL mistake.

Great turn fight, (I already forgot who it was). I had to ask the guy that shot me down. ;)

in my user cp options, it shows in the Signature section that the [IMG] code is off.... so i'm clueless how it's done.

You'll notice that he has a dashed line, not a solid line so therefore it not truely a "sig".

If I were doing this, I would have a .txt file that has all the info need for such a "sig" and everytime I posted, I would Copy-Paste it.

Sky, Slapshot you got it. Just copy and paste.  I have a bunch on hand when I am in the mood.
