Happy Friday the 13th!
It's been a busy week for us at Game Voice Central as we prepare for the 1.3 beta release. Nonetheless, we wanted to give you all a preview of new features that will be available when 1.3 beta goes live:
Game Voice Client
* Join peer-to-peer and server sessions from the Chat tab.
* Specify a single UDP port for sessions you host.
* Modify parameters for voice commands to improve recognition.
* Use timed macros to map multiple game actions to a single voice command.
Game Voice Server
* Run up to 10 sessions at a time on your server.
* Select between mixing and forwarding modes.
* Run the server as a Windows 2000 Service.
Game Voice Web Site
* Updated look and feel
* Profile Center where you can download, submit, and rate game profiles.
* Public Server page that lists available server sessions, filterable by connection speed, location, language, and more.
* A Fan and Clan site directory.
We're trying to gauge interest in the Game Voice Server. If you intend to install and run a server, would you drop us an e-mail at info@gamevoice.com and let us know the following: the specifications for your machine, what games you intend to play, and how many people you plan on having in your sessions? Thanks!
The Game Voice Team
Anyone in Aces High using this voice comms? I find it gives much clearer comms than Roger Wilco although you can't use the GV voice commands and Roger Wilco at the same time which was a pain before but now with the server version coming out I wondered if any squads plan on trying this software or indeed if the guys at HTC have looked at it. I sent HTC my profiles for Aces High for Game Voice and Game Comamnder, dunno if they received them or not.
