Man 110G instruments are off
« on: December 26, 2005, 02:26:10 PM »
speed shows incorrect mph, I checked against e6b, it's way off (20mph), altimeter 10k and 1k hands are off-center from each other, the 10k should be under but it is above the 1k hand, it looked like one or two others were off-center as well, I suspect the speed problem is due to off-center needles, but am not sure.

Delete your game's cache folder.

I don't think that will do it because it's a fresh install as of a few months ago. Reformatted at that time had to reinstall.

I had to recache everything two or three weeks after a fresh install once. Had gauges missing and in the wrong places on all of the British birds. Cleared right up afterward.

Yup; when you reopen the game, it will recache everything fresh, like when you install a new version. It basically reinstalls the objects.

Cleared the cache and it's still there.

Even at rest on the runway you can tell some things are off. Minute hand on clock is too far right, hour hand should be beneath it but is on top. Same for altimeter - 10k hand on top of 1k hand, and 1k hand slightly off. Speedometer is way off. WAY off. The center of the needle is too low by far and too right by a bit. The 200 mark is pure "right" so when you are flying at 200 IAS on auto speed the needle is perfectly flat, but it is a good 10-15 pixels too low on the gague face, and a little too right by at least a few pixels. This will lead to inaccurate speed listings at all speeds except "0" and "400", neither of which a 110G2 flies well at.

EDIT: Climb and rpm are slightly off, as well, but it's not *as* noticable as the alt/speed gagues.
