Dick Clark's Roffimp Nup Yurf

Anyone watch Dick Clark's special last night? I tuned in to see his triumphant return after his stroke. Sadly, I hope it's his last. It was depressing to see him struggle so badly with his speech.

I'm glad he survived his stroke and is doing well, but it was painfully clear he needs to step away from on camera work. Like the quarteback that has taken too many sacks or the boxer that has been KO'ed one too many times, it's clear he needs to hang up the mic.:(
My mind is a raging torrent, flooded with rivulets of thought cascading into a waterfall of creative alternatives.
Stay thirsty my friends.

The whole show was... terrible.  Mariah Carey, oh boy.  All the 'guest hosts' that kept the Dick Clark robot from overloading were attrocious.  Could there be more advertisements?  I suspect...  no.

Wifey was watching, though, and I had a laptop to work on Wikipedia with, so...  meh.

advertisments (BROUGHT TO YOU BY PEPSI) could have (BUY CHARLSTON CHEW) been (DRINK MOXIE COLA) more numerous. but (VOTE ZOMBIE NIXON IN 2008) i dont think it (JOIN THE ARMY) takes (SCREW THAT, JOIN THE NAVY!!) away from (NEXT THURSDAY ON NBC...) the experience.

Wow they really had a bunch of commercials if they were hyping NBC shows on an ABC program...

That was one of the most depressing things that I have ever seen in my life.
My wife and I changed the channel.

Dick Clark has rocked more Eve's than Adam, but it's time to call it a night.

I'm glad he's alive and well, but ya gotta know when to fold 'em.

Thanks for all the memories DC <> !

There were too many commercials.  At one point they cut to commericals less than 60 seconds after returning from a commerical break.  That singer lady was excessively fat and ugly, and it didn't help that they played hideous rap music (yay for the mute button).

I think it was a class act on the part of the network to have Clark host the show.  He was definately the best part of it.  I hope he's on again next year.

Watching TV on new year's eve is for losers.
I played a flight sim, then went to bed at 9:30.

what? no one takes their wives dancing anymore?  I've never seen DC on NYE and have no idea what the big deal is.  NYE is best spent with friends, hopefully away from a TV.
