Okay, granted, FireHwk acts like a sweetheartbag, and it certainly looks like he's up to something, but that's still no reason to cause a pursefight on here. There are a relatively few people who abuse their connections, and or attempt to do so, to exploit the game. When you stumble across such folks, simply film it and send it in. The more you see, the more you should send in. The more of a fuss you create in here(the forums), the more likely they are to learn of this, and modify their behavior, and the more difficult it becomes for HTC to figure out exactly what is happening, and when, if anything is being intentionally manipulated.
The game doesn't need sweetheartbags, nor does it need them to be forewarned when such things are discovered.
I agree to some extent we shouldn't be chit-chatting idly about stuff like this as we would kind of be telling the 'theives how to steal' . But, on the other hand, it takes very few people doing this to ruin the fun for many others. There has to be some form of accountability to the community. People have to know they will be called on this sort of behavior, publicly.
Honestly, from my point of view, I could care less whether the person's connection sucks incidentally or by intent. I pay $50 a month for a very good connection so I can enjoy a very good game I pay an additional $15 a month for. I take exception to a few broke folks, satellite users, or connection manipulators effectively wasting MY MONEY I spent to have a high quality gaming experience simply due to the fact their connection sucks, for whatever reason.
I am a firm advocate of HTC implimenting some sort of un-compromising minimum standard and persistant integrity check for connections. If you fall below the minimum standard, you are booted, plain and simple. This game is not like most other real-time internet games, this game has a much higher percentage of adults, fidelity to realism is of much higher importance, and a fairly significant financial investment is required by the individual for the equipment and connect required to play the game to its full potential. It is unfair to those people who make that investment to have it shat upon by those who either choose not to make the investment required, for whatever reason, or choose to maliciously manipulate their connectivity to their advantage.
I know this sounds cold-hearted but, if you live in Antarctica, can only play by satelite and your average ping time and packet loss makes you warp like the starship Enterprise, this is not the game for you. You will not waste my money forcing my sense of realism down the preverbial toilet because your connection blows camel farts.
Please HTC impliment a minimum connection fidelity standard and enforce it automatically...This and only this will quickly, easily and permanently solve the problems.
