Wireless Dial Up?

Satelite is one way to get a decednt high speed internet connection but there is a downside to it. Other than the price for the equipment there is also a substantial lag issue. The average lag is about 1.5 seconds to 2 seconds so game playing like AH is not possible.

Green Cloud, if you do need more info on it let me know. That is the type of system I use and I am also an installer.

The whole setup was made probably in 2002-2003, I saw it in September 2004, so I don't think it was a newest version of wi-fi. The whole factory was built over 100 years ago and they had nothing but a primitive crossbar exchange phone station, so they had to find solutions like that.

Well, like I said, it's the first time I've heard of something like that. I was also figuring that he meant to use something like a linksys or the sort.

Well that Trendnet item I linked to most likely comes out of the same factory as all the Linksys gear, and its cheap gear.

However, I would suggest you try a vibrating plow, rather than a Ditch Witch trencher.

The vibrating plow will leave a nearly invisible mark, no soil surcharge to dispose of, and move very quickly through most soil types.  Usually used for pulling irrigation lines without damaging the surface.  Since you can get direct-burial cable, you won't need conduit & fittings.

Bingo. That is the ONLY way to bury a phoneline. The contractor Sprint sent out used one and he laid 1/4 mile of line in about 1/2 an hour. No muss, no fuss and barely any sign that he had done the job.

I believe the FDB's have a vibrating plow you can rent of them when its not being used for their "entertainment".
