Overbooked Squad
« on: January 08, 2006, 09:45:11 AM »
The Sick Puppies had way to many show up so I decided to leave the squad and fly with another.  In no way am I trying to bash the other squad I flew with (not one I am familiar with) but the lack of organization and comunication really made for a poor night for me.  It was interesting none the less.  It sure opened my eyes as to how one squad operates as opposed to another.

In the event this happens next week, I would be willing to give up a slot to another Sick Puppy only this time fly with one of the more prominent squads to experience their tactics.  I always look forward to Friday Night Squad Ops and really appreciate all the work that is put in to building the event from the administrators.  You dont get the credit that is due as often as you should.

In the event the Sick Puppies are overbooked again, is there any large squad out there willing to take in a stray dog like me for the night?  Allied side of course.

You can fly with us any time, but I really don't consider our squad very organized.  Generally we roll together, and die within a sector of each other. ;) Nothing like flying with your own squadies.

How can we be organized if our leaders keeping telling us North when they mean South and left when they go right?
:p

Muttman,  you're welcome to join us as DD said, we are pretty loose.  The comms are lively, but that's just because we're heckling Ghosth and Daddog or whoever the unfortunate leader is for the night.  We clear each others sixes and try to use wingman, but we're really not a disciplined squad.  Hence the "Mongrels" part of our name. :D

Dont get me wrong, I am not saying us Pups are organized, but at least we know what our target is supposed to be and are able to communicate it to each other effecitvely.  All I got was it was the city next to such and such base.  Time and time again I asked, "are you sure its the city next to the base?"  Response:  "Yes".  Again I ask "the one you would take down as if you were going to capture the base?"  Response:  "Yes".  It turns out that the target was actually the City Factory in that sector.  I got seperated from the group, went to what I thought was the target expecting to see battle damage they had reported and find it not damaged at all.  Thats when I realized it must have been the City Factory.

I dont know, perhaps the communication error was on my part, but after trying to get it clarified several times it did no good.  For the sake of argument and diplomacy I will take the blame.  But yes guys, in the event we are overbooked again and you have space, I would be honored to fly with ya.

The squad you flew with was actually flying their first FSO frame ever, so they were making their own discoveries and learning as they went. It was also not an easy frame, as frames go. I'm sure they will be as good to fly with as any other squad once they get the feel for it.

That said, the Mongrels are a class act to fly with, I know first-hand. :)

Daddog, as far as foul language goes, I rarely if ever use it in the game or in real life for that matter.

Coming from a Law Enforcement background, I am constantly surrounded and exposed to foul languge and find that a lot of folks cant seem to hold a normal converstation without using it.  When you add in the element of exitement and anger to the mix, it just expands it exponentially.
